A new chapter begins at Eleganté .

Eleganté has been a part of the community's social fabric, providing good food, service, and support to families and friends for over 30 years.

After three years, a new location opened, and I moved to help the owners with day to day operations of the restaurant. This was a tremendous opportunity to learn about the industry. I eventually worked my way up to manager – I was the owner's right hand.

There I learned everything I could, from making the dough and the pizza sauce to developing new recipes to customer relations and the business end of running a highly successful restaurant. After the passing of one of the owners, I was offered an opportunity to become a partner. I jumped at the chance with energy and ideas and helped take the business to new heights.

When the previous owners decided it was time to hang up their aprons, an opportunity that took a lifetime to come presented itself. Coming up in the business, I dreamed of one day owning my own restaurant. Inspired by my father, who owned a few restaurants when I was a kid, I've been in this business all my life. At 18 and in college, I got a job as a busboy at a pizzeria on Long Island. I worked there and slowly moved up the ranks, from cleaning tables and bathrooms to customer service and food prep.

Life was good. But as our family grew, we decided to start a new journey away from the hustle and bustle of the NY metro area. With a desire to raise our children in a place with fresher air and more open space, we found this opportunity in Honesdale, and it was a match made in heaven.

While we have changed some things, putting our touch and recipes on the menu, one thing will remain. Eleganté will continue to be a community treasure and 'comfort-makers' for years to come.
